GROUP FITNESS DESCRIPTIONS
Group fitness classes are available for free to Twinsburg Fitness Center members. No one under 13 is allowed in the class at any time.
Aqua Challenge: A self paced complete cardio and muscular water workout. Experience the training benefits of a non-impact deep water class. Buoyancy belts are worn to increase the core work for the abs and back. Swimming skills are not necessary, but a comfort level in deep water is suggested.
Aqua Diva: A musical blend of Bollywood, Zumba and Hip Hop rhythms using the noodle to work yourentire body while using the resistance of the pool water to increase your aerobic caloric burn.
Aqua Flex: This is a low-impact and low-intensity workout taught in the water. You will increase muscular endurance while you tone muscles and improve flexibility.
Aqua Lite: Enjoyable water exercise class designed for the less mobile adult. Gentle movement through water will therapeutically strengthen muscles and provide increased flexibility for the joints. This class is safe and effective for those who experience joint pain or desire a less intense water workout.
Aqua Tabata: Alternating rounds of cardio & strength moves using the side of the pool.
Hydro Fitness: A total body workout in the water. Improve strength, flexibility, cardio endurance and body composition. No swimming required.
Deep/Shallow Water Challenge: A water workout designed to invigorate and awaken all of your muscle groups. Need to be comfortable in all depths for Deep Water Challenge.
Water Workout: Move through a shallow and deep water workout that travels you through water with intensity and control. This water exercise class is a total body workout, especially helping to strengthen muscles of the abdominal wall and back. This is a safe and effective workout designed to be fun and enjoyed by the adult who has no fear of water.
Water Works: Move through shallow water with intensity and control. This water exercise class is a total body workout, especially helping to strengthen muscles of the abdominal wall and back. Water works challenges you physically, while letting you leave the pool refreshed and invigorated
Battle Plan Boot Camp: No guts, no glory in this whole body workout! This class incorporates military type drills designed to enhance power, strength, stamina and agility. Jon will keep you moving from exercise to exercise so check “lazy” at the door when you step into this workout. Battle Plan Boot Camp works you head to toe so you’ll be ready for anything life brings!
Boot Camp: A mix of high intensity workouts designed to work all your major muscles. Strength endurance circuits, plyometrics, cardio, and core that will challenge the body and keep you guessing. Each class will bring something different. You will use weights, medicine ball, battle ropes, stability ball, TRX, kettle bells, resistance bands, wall balls, and plyo box. All levels are welcome in this class.
GO Fit Boot Camp: Designed to build strength, endurance and cardio fitness through a variety of intense cross-training techniques. The class will include cross training between resistance (i.e. weight training) and cardio (i.e. high-intensity interval training and running. It is designed to push participants both physically and mentally.
Kickboxing: A non stop cross training plus core class! A complete workout with boot camp, kickboxing, and cardio elements combined.
TRX Boot Camp: TRX Boot Camp is a high intensity style class with some focus on TRX training bands. This class will push you to your limits incorporating cardio and strength training movements. A great class for anyone trying to make a positive impact on their health and fitness!
Barre Interval: A mix of Pilates, dance, yoga, and functional training set to music. BARRE Interval students will move at a fast pace through an entire workout. Expect high intensity cardio intervals and weight training. Upper body and abdominal work will be included.
Body Fit: Combines various cardiovascular exercises with core and muscles conditioning.
Cardio Interval: This energetic class alternates between cardio intervals and body sculpting. A great workout for your whole body and really revs up your metabolism. Includes abdominal work and stretching exercises.
Cross Fitness: This is a hybrid class focusing on strength, power, mobility, flexibility and core movements. The class will use equipment such as bands, bars, Kettle Bells, Rower, medicine balls and body weight. This class will help keep all participants stay healthy, strong and fit!
Dynamic Duo: This class will incorporate intervals of cardio and strength utilizing aerobic movements and strength exercises. Cardio can include traditional exercises such as plyometric moves like jumping jacks and/or step aerobics. Strength training can use body weight exercises such as pushups, squats, planks, and abdominal work and/or exercises utilizing dumbbells, body bars, resistance tubing, or stability balls. This is a full body workout and will be slightly different each week but always leave you feeling like you’ve worked each body part and burned calories.
Inferno Interval: Inferno is a total body circuit style class designed to challenge you by using both body weight and weights in both cardio and strength exercises. This class is great for participants of all fitness levels and can be modified to personal needs as necessary. Class time runs 30 minutes. Great start to your day!!!
Power Burn: A mix of Heart Rate Based, Tabata, HIIT, Cardio workout alternating with Power, Yoga, Weight Lifting, and Body-weight movements. All levels welcome.
Power Circuit: Traditional High and Low Aerobics combined with toning exercises that will get you moving, burning calories and tone your muscles.
Power Hour: Each class is a mix of P90X, Core De Force, or both!!
Sharp Circuit: This high intensity class will challenge you and push you to your limits; it will be a great variety of cardio, core & strength training. This fun new class will use the new equipment located on the turf, and is a circuit style class. Prepare to learn some new movements and to sweat.
SHE Lifts: This program is perfect for any healthy woman who is looking to transform her body through a good weight lifting program. The goal is to help you develop lean and functional muscle tone through functional lifts. The workout will target lower body with a strong focus on flutes and upper body with a focus on sculpting muscles in the arms. To increase the number of calories burned each session cardio recommendations will be added to do on your own!
Simple Stretch: Focus on stretching all major muscle groups through a wide variety of modalities: self-stretch, stability ball, bands and t-bow. Learn a new approach to stretching and incorporate it into your personal routine! Perfect for all skill levels and stretches can be modified, however some stretches may require laying down on the mat.
Step Interval: This class combines intervals of step aerobics with strength training using dumbbells and body weight exercises. This is a total body workout that encompasses cardio and calorie burn with toning of all major muscle groups.
Strength & Step: 30 Minutes of step and 30 minutes strength training and abs.
Total Tabata: Tabata is a form of maximum intensity training. Interval training of a single exercise for 20 seconds, followed by 10 seconds rest, repeated without pause 8 times total for a total of 4 minutes. This class will complete 6 different Tabata circuits utilizing dumbbells and/or resistance tubing. All exercises can be modified and there is a strong emphasis on correct form and technique.
Ultimate Cardio/Core: A high intensity class focusing on movements to increase cardio endurance and strengthen our core muscles that function as stabilizers for our entire body.
Ultimate Strength: A full body workout focusing on strengthening intervals of each muscle group through boot camp style class by using a variety of equipment (dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX and more!).
HIIT: High-intensity interval training is a 30 minute workout that alternates between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less-intense activity or even complete rest.
SPINNING: An indoor cycling class that mimics cycling outdoors. An effective way to increase your fitness, burn calories and break a sweat.
SS BOOM: New! Get moving with a variety of exercises!
SS Classic: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and or standing support.
SS Circuit: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation.
SS Yoga: Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Silver Splash: Meets in the shallow area of the pool. Activate your aqua exercise urge for variety! Offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a special SilverSneakers®Kickboard is used.
Beginners Yoga: Yoga at the very basic level, a slow paced class for beginners and also for people with limited movements.
Deep Stretch Flow Yoga: Holding the pose for longer duration, with a few deep breathing in holding a pose and it will flow into the next position, again with longer holding time with conscious breathing. This will result in deep stretching of the body.
Gentle Yoga: Gentle stretches, breathing exercises and final relaxation. People with little or no yoga experience can start here. This class is less physically demanding and focuses more on relaxation.
Intermediate Yoga: Slightly faster and deeper than the basic level. Targeting an audience already familiar with basic yoga movements and poses.
Meditation: A practice where an individual trains the mind to simply acknowledge its content, without being identified with the content. A broad variety of practices that include techniques to promote relaxation, build internal energy (also referred to as “prana” “qi” “ki” etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. Meditation is often used to clear the mind and ease many health concerns such as blood pressure, anxiety and depression. Meditation has a calming effect and direct internal awareness, until pure awareness is achieved.
Relaxation Yoga: More focus on relaxing the body and mind, besides some stretches. More than 20 minutes are devoted for relaxation.
Sunrise Yoga: A vigorous and challenging class that prepares your body to face the day. It is meant for an audience who has at least 3-4 months of basic and intermediate yoga practice. It is fast paced and with deeper stretches for core strengthening and energizing.
Sunset Yoga: A series of gentle stretches to energize the body as every one will be tired after a days work. There will be also some deep breathing exercises to help to improve the oxygen level prove and a final relaxation to calm the mind.
Wellness Yoga: More of breathing techniques and alignment of postures and relaxation.
Yogalates: Yogalates takes the best of Pilates and yoga and blends them to provide maximum gains in both flexibility and strength. It is traditional Yoga routine with Pilates core exercises!
Zumba: Dance your way to a fitter you with exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms.
Zumba Gold: All the easy to follow moves and elements that Zumba Fitness-Party is known for, but modified to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.
